The memory layout of the Model I and III notably rendered them incompatible with standard CP / M which was designed to load at $ 0000 and have its TPA ( Transient Program Area ) start at $ 0100.
Digital Research produced for Tandy / Radio Shack a version of its CP / M 3.0 for the Model 4, but it was buggy and actually provided a smaller Transient Program Area than the non-banked CP / M 2.2.
